Membership is open to individuals who are interested in investing in life science and medical device companies and who are “accredited investors” as defined under Rule 501 of Regulation D promulgated by the Securities and Exchange Commission. An individual “accredited investor” includes “any natural person whose individual net worth, or joint net worth with that person's spouse, at the time of his or her purchase exceeds $1,000,000" or "any natural person who had an individual income in excess of $200,000 in each of the two most recent years or joint income with that person's spouse in excess of $300,000 in each of those years and who reasonably expects to reach the same income level in the current year.” Only individuals may apply as members, not business entities.
BioAngels is especially sensitive to protecting its members and presenting companies from unwanted solicitations. Accordingly, no applications will be accepted from service professionals, including without limitation, lawyers, accountants, bankers, financial advisors, recruiters, insurance agents, etc., unless an individual can demonstrate previous substantial cash investments as an angel investor in life science companies.
BioAngels reserves the right to reject an application to become a member.
The annual fee for membership is $250. There is a $100 charge for each dinner meeting. To submit an application to join BioAngels, please click here-BioAngels 2004 Membership Application
